Going the distance requires time, dedication, financial obligation and a strong desire to be the best you can be in anything you accomplish. For Volunteer Properties, "Going the Distance" has won them the prestigious "Management Company of the Year Award" with the Greater Nashville Apartment Association (GNAA) in 2002, 2006, and 2007. This award was received by team members "going the distance" in their desires to further their education and knowledge of their chosen profession in property management. From Director of Property Management to Onsite Team Members of Property Managers, Assistant Managers, Maintenance Technicians, and Groundskeepers, employees strive to be the best they can be. Throughout the years, Volunteer Properties has graduated 1 CAPS® (Certified Apartment Property Supervisor), 6 CAM®s (Certified Apartment Managers), 19 CAMT®s (Certified Apartment Maintenance Technicians), 6 NALP®s (National Apartment Leasing Professionals), and 6 CPO®s (Certified Pool Operators). Many team members have been awarded with Star Excellence Awards such as "Property Manager of the Year", "Assistant Manager of the Year", "Maintenance Technician of the Year", "Housekeeper of the Year", "Groundskeeper of the Year" and "Multi-Site Manager of the Year" presented by the GNAA. Linda Mason, Director of Property Management serves as Vice President on the GNAA Board.

Education of the Volunteer Properties staff does not stop with just these certifications. Our staff regularly attends fair housing seminars, legal seminars, marketing courses, leadership training classes, spanish seminars, and HVAC and CPR certification courses as well as monthly meetings for managers and maintenance personnel offered by the Greater Nashville Apartment Association. The group travels to the National Apartment Association Education Conference each year. Further, Volunteer Properties is also active with the Institute of Real Estate Management® and through this refined organization has certified 9 ARM®s (Accredited Residential Managers) and 1 CPM® (Certified Property Manager). Training and education continues with government certifications of 2 HCCP®s (Housing Credit Certified Professionals) and 1 COS® (Certified Occupancy Specialist).

Volunteer Properties is involved in community service projects such as events like the King's Daughter Day Home Holiday Party, Strike Out Drugs Bowling, the Think Pink Tournament to benefit the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure (Breast Cancer Awareness), and the Pumpkin Patch day with Metro Parks youth. The company also supports the National Night Out Against Crime, Susan G. Komen, American Red Cross, St. Luke Community Center, Youth Life Learning Center, Senior Dances at the Knowles Center, Welcome Home Ministries, Right Turns and Y-Cap.

Volunteer employees are a very active and dedicated group of team members not only involved in the above-mentioned organizations but also to their company, its owners, residents and coworkers. These involvements have allowed our staff to grow to his or her full potential, which can be seen at each property.
